In the light of the Commission's guidelines, Secretary Parameshwar Iyer has now released a guideline for all states on behalf of the Union Ministry of Water Power to ensure that they take measures in this direction. The Commission has allocated 574 crores to the Uttarakhand rural bodies, which is to be spent on drinking water and sanitation in 50% of the villages. Additional Drinking Water Secretary Udayraj Singh says the villages are now ODF and measures should be taken to keep it intact. In addition, steps should be taken in the direction of habitat restoration, renovation, snow regeneration, water management, etc. In this regard, all DMs and CDOs have been advised to make preparations, as these are to be achieved by them.
