Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the government decided to provide employment opportunities to millions of small local artisans, craftsman, craftswoman, crafts person, skilled worker, mechanic, and traditional cooks through Hunar Haat during the next five years.
Minister said that the next Hunar Haat will be held from 1 to 10, 2019 at the North Central Zone Cultural Center in Prayagraj (U.P.).
This haat will be attended by 300 craftsmen and cooks from all parts of the country. The theme of Hunar Haats to be held in 2019 and 2020 will be - Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. During the last three years, 2.5 lakh artisans, artisans and culinary experts have got employment Naqvi said Hunar Haat provides employment opportunities to artisans. Naqvi said that the Minority Ministry will organize 100 skill haats across the country during the last five years. Hunar Haat will help in fulfilling the Prime Minister's commitment to programs like Make in India, Standup India, Startup India etc. Visitors will also be able to enjoy traditional cuisine from every corner of the country Naqvi said that the Hunar Haat to be held at Prayagraj included indigenous handmade products like bamboo and jute products from Assam, Varanasi silk, chikankari of Lucknow, ceramics, glassware and leather products, traditional handicrafts from Uttar Pradesh,.
Uttar Pradesh Traditional handicrafts from Eastern region, Bandhej from Gujarat, clay work and copper products, Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh and Mangalagiri, marble from Rajasthan Masterpieces and handicrafts, Madhubani paintings from Bihar, woodwork from Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, block prints from Madhya Pradesh, jewelery and pearls from Puducherry, sandalwood products from Tamil Nadu, hand embroidered products from West Bengal, rare rams from Kashmir-Ladakh Ayurvedic herbs etc. will be displayed. Visitors will also enjoy traditional cuisine from every corner of the country. In addition, traditional cultural programs, qawwali, Sufi music, poetry recitations etc. will be performed by renowned artists.
